'Once I had a Flower' has been an ongoing project of mine for the last few years. This book has been very close to my heart and explains my personal experience of grief. My motivations of this book was not only a personal outlet but also aims to teach younger children about the fragility of life. By using a short-lived character such as a flower, not only can this be explained, but it also allows this character to relate to any persona, whether this be a person, animal or even circumstance that may involve grieving.
