Dr Helen Lane started writing poetry in her own time to alleviate some of the emotional burden witnessed on the acute wards. Her close friends encouraged her to share her poems to help others. Throughout the pandemic, many healthcare and social staff have had difficulty coping with the emotional, physical and mental challenges that they faced; both at work and in their personal lives. Dr Lane has shared her poems in order to support all of those who have provided support for each other, for clients and patients, for relatives and family and of course cared for us; allowing us to care for others. The collaboration from two Front Line Doctors perspective during these unprecedented events has led to Reflections through the waves becoming a historic and memoir of these uncertain times.
